Have you ever been getting ready for an event — a birthday celebration, a visit to someone in the hospital, a goodbye party — when you realized you didn’t have a card to bring with you? It happens to me quite often and can be a bit stressful. As can turning over those fancy store-bought cards and reading the price! I mean it’s just ink and paper and people throw them away after you leave. Nevertheless it’s a convention of society that isn’t going away any time soon so better to be prepared.
I designed a few printable layered cards some time ago as a test product for my Etsy shop. Although they didn’t sell very well (and consequently I took them down) I came to rely on using them myself whenever I was in a pinch for a greeting card. They work pretty well, cost less than a dollar in supplies, and take only 5 minutes or less to put together.
So I thought I’d share them with you. Feel free to download and use them for personal use or as a craft project with kids. You can even try selling the finished products if you want. Just don’t bring them to the same birthday party as me, okay? 😉
All you need is:
- a colour printer
- a pair of scissors
- a glue stick
- one sheet of white cardstock paper (A4 or 8.5×11″)
- one sheet of white copy paper (A4 or 8.5×11″)
This card is probably only usable as a birthday card, but in a pinch, it could be used in any happy celebration where cupcakes might be served. Mmmm… cupcakes…
With rustic burlap accents and a couple of love birds, this one works as a valentine’s day card, a wedding card, or an anniversary card.
I use this one a lot. It was originally made as a thank you card, but I’ve added an option to instead use it as a get well card, or you can fill in your own wish for any occasion.
There you have it! I hope that you can make good use of these printable greeting cards as I have. Happy crafting! 🙂
